Don’t lose your voice – Rosie’s Story
Rosie shares her experience to help others who are faced with the terrifying news that they need their voice box removed. Rosie bravely tells her personal story from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. The video is the first laryngectomy resource developed specifically for Aboriginal patients.

The video production was funded through the Charlies Foundation for Research “Bright Ideas Grant” awarded to Melanie Sonsee (Senior Speech Pathologist, SCGH). The video was produced with the assistance of SCGH staff including - Aboriginal Liaison Officers and staff on G64 and the ENT Outpatient Department.
