We understand those differences and offer voice prostheses to address those needs. Our Special Order Voice Prostheses Program provides solutions with special lengths, large flanges, increased resistance and combinations of each.

Special Length (-SL)

Available in one millimeter incremental lengths for a more precise TE puncture fit.

Increased Resistance (-IR)

Designed to be used in patients in whom conventional voice prostheses open intermittently with fluctuations in esophageal pressures resulting in air ingestion and/or leakage.

Large Oesophageal Flange (-LEF) and (-LESL)

Provides a seal to help manage leakage around a voice prosthesis. Also, enables downsizing from a wider diameter prosthesis to a smaller diameter. Effectiveness depends on an optimal prosthesis length fit that achieves a snug flange-to-flange seal against the wall surface(s).

Large Esophageal & Tracheal Flanges (-LF) (-LEIR) (-LETO)

Provides a double seal in patients with significantly enlarged puncture tracts and tear-drop or irregularly shaped punctures. Effectiveness depends on an optimal prosthesis length fit that achieves a snug flange-to-flange seal against the wall surface(s).

 

Clinician-placed Indwelling Voice Prostheses

The Blom-Singer Indwelling voice prosthesis is an indwelling style, clinician-placed voice prosthesis. The product is designed for laryngectomees who are unable or unwilling to routinely remove, clean, and reinsert a patient-changeable voice prosthesis. 
Blom-Singer Indwelling voice prostheses are available in numerous different product styles and offered in nonsterile or sterile, and with or without silver oxide (anti-fungal substance*). Nonsterile product is not intended for primary placement procedures.

*Silver oxide, a known anti-fungal substance, has been incorporated into the prosthesis as a material preservative. This feature may eliminate or reduce the need for anti-fungal agents such as Nystatin for some users, but not for others.
